Visit of the Governor General to the Knowledge Engineering and Discovery Research Institute (KEDRI)

On the 23rd March, the NZ Governor General His Excellency Sir Jerry Mateparae visited KEDRI, accompanied by the AUT VC Derek McCormack and guests. KEDRI Director Prof Nik Kasabov and KEDRI students and staff demonstrated the KEDRI NeuCube – a neurocomputing spatio-temporal data machine and its several applications, including EEG brain data modelling, Brain-Computer Interfaces, seismic data modelling for risk of earthquake prediction, personalised data modelling and future event prediction. Sir Jerry commented that he has been visiting all NZ universities and many universities overseas to get a vision for the future science and technology development in NZ and the work in KEDRI is unique and promising.
