Lukas Paulun is a visiting student from the University of Freiburg, Germany, where he is in the final year of a B.Sc. Mathematics and a B.A. Philosophy and Cognitive Science. After completing his bachelor degrees, Lukas is planning to study towards a master’s degree in Computational Neuroscience. His areas of interest include neuroinformatics and artificial intelligence as well as the philosophy of mind.

Associate Professor Hideaki Kawano from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan, accompanied by 6 PhD students, visited the Knowledge Engineering Discovery Research Institute (KEDRI) on 16 March 2017. Dr Kawano is involved in international research collaboration with KEDRI in the field of emotion recognition, speech processing, data mining, and neurocomputing.
